The family’s history is intertwined with photography of the 20the century: it leads from the glass negatives to digital technology. Aladár Vámos opened his studio in Balassagyarmat between 1903 and 1906. His son, Zoltán Vámos, worked at HAFA (Hatschek and Farkas, Hungarian photo company) and then for four decades in his small business. Judit Vámos fell in love with photography there, in that small shop on Fő utca (Main Street). The secret of their 120-year survival is quality work. Their motto: ’The satisfaction of our customers is our real award.’
