The title of the book originally published by Károly Gundel and Frigyes Karinthy in 1933, was borrowed by the Hungarian Museum of Trade andTourism to its catering industry exhibition, the accompanying publication of which can be read by the reader. The colourful book, illustrated with pictures, presents the history of home and professional Hungarian hospitality in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, its spaces and prominent representatives. From the book we can find out what you should know about cafes, restaurants, patisseries, hotels. The readers can learn where and how the former citizenship spent their free time. Where they traveled, where they stayed, what their former vacationers had assigned to their table. We can learn how the craft of chefs and confectioners have developed, and how the tourism and hotel industry, meets increasingly the diverse needs, has progressed.
